Biography of Speaker

Ikuta shrine is the most famous Shinto shrine in Kobe. “Ikuta-mai” is kagura (‘kagura’ is sacred music and dancing performed at a shrine). Two men of the Takarazuka Music School created music and dance moves to Japanese poems made by Gotoba-in and Juntoku-in. The dancers are women, but they dance in men’s clothes such as long black lacquered hats (=‘Eboshi’) and green noshi (‘noshi’ is everyday clothes for nobles).!
